AITA for telling my daughter she'll never make a career out of working with dogs

Funny you say that. I actually partner with a fear free certified groomer on a groom & train program for fear aggressive dogs. There are tons of dogs who are not socialized well enough (especially all the pandemic puppies) or have experienced some trauma that makes it unsafe to groom them (both for the dog and groomer). These dogs get referred to vets to be sedated and shaved. Its super costly for an ugly haircut (vets aren't trained groomers, the point is just to take the matting off safely, not to make it pretty) and putting the dog under every 4-8 weeks for grooming is a health risk as well.

Grooming is mandatory for the health of the dog and is a life long need every 4-8 weeks. People drive HOURS to get into our groom & train program. Its a short term investment that save tons of money and stress on the client in the long run. We've had clients cry over the the how happy they are that grooming is no longer such a major stress point in their life. This is a highly lucrative niche and there are so few groomers/trainers providing that service. She really should jump on that opportunity ASAP, its soooo needed. Your daughter is a genius for recognizing a hole in the market and coming up with a service to fill that gap.

I opened my own business a few months before the pandemic hit. Even among that, I've hit a six figure salary already. I think that's proof people will pay.
