Yeah, I came here to say this too. Temperature changes breaks glass all the time, you saying it defies the laws of physics really makes you look like a moron who doesn't understand physics at all. Even if it was brand new, I would still believe it could spontaneously break after pouring hot water, nevermind the fact that it was already broken.
