Am I expecting too much from my dates

The interrogation / quiz show thing can be awkward. On the other hand, I see it as a benchmark of "how much is this person trying to show off and impress" vs "how much is this person genuinely interested in getting to know me"? The questions themselves might be boring, but the act of making the effort to ask them signals concientiousness and some interest. It's nice to know if the person across the table even cares about anyone other than themselves.

Too many questions can also feel forced and stilted. For me the ideal is something in between. I definitely look for at least some signals of her making an effort too, and not just sitting there bored expecting entertainment.
