Has anyone sat Step 1 after using Brosencephalon's ANKI decks? How well did they prepare you?

Well we've done cell bio, genetics, embryology, anatomy, and histology last semester. During this term we're doing biochemistry, physiology I (CNS/PNS, skeletomuscular, GI, and cardiac), immunology, and biostats. Our school does heavily emphasize clinical correlations, even in these beginning courses. They even provide NMBE shelf exams as our final exams when possible.

So far my plan is to do brosencephalon's FA deck and suspend anything I haven't covered yet, which will be most of it. The thing is that I wouldn't want to dip into Pathoma if it won't be useful for me at the moment. I'm one of the those people that finds it hard to forget a question and its answer until quite some time has passed.

My whole idea is to cut down the time needed for review after my last pre-clinical semester so that I can spend more time doing practice questions. I see that most people review for a few weeks, while I'd like to take that content review time and shrink it and focus it on the tiny details I missed from Pathoma and FA, after having done the brosencephalon decks a few times over the course a year. Do you have any critiques on my plan and on how I can best use this time?

I see that many of my peers are obsessed with their GPAs. I was like them until I realized that as long as I'm doing decently well in school (>85% GPA), it won't help all that much. I understand the concepts, but fighting over another 10% based on how our professors test and what they think is important doesn't seem high yield to me. I'd rather take the time spent fighting the professor for an extra 10% in the class and invest it into a slow and steady effort at keeping all brosencephalon stuff (which is basically FA, right?) super fresh.
