Has anyone tried any workout plans like Fit Girls Guide, Kayla Itsines, or Blogilates?

Just saw this.

I'm a Kayla FANATIC! I started her BBG1 guide (there are two of them) in October, finished at Christmas, and started again in January. I finished that at the end of March, and now I'm 3 weeks into the second guide, and I'm absolutely loving it. Here's why:

The first guide starts simple. NOT easy, but simple. You start off doing things like sit-ups, push-ups (modified, in my case), and burpees. After the first four weeks the moves get more technical, with more jumping and combination moves (like burpee with push-up, onto bench). After eight weeks the guide intensifies again, this time incorporating HIIT into the other days. I liked BBG1 because it got me away from the security of machines and cardio, and gave me a plan that eased me into the intimidating world of bodyweight workouts. After the first round (12 weeks) I didn't notice a physical difference (although I am certain there was one), but I felt incredibly strong. One thing I remember noticing was how, when I stood still, I felt more 'grounded' - my stabilizing muscles were stronger and it made me feel generally more in control of my body, if that makes sense. I did the guide again a second time, and it was about half way through that I objectively saw changes in my body - my abs began to show through, my legs seemed to tone up, and my arms got way more defined.

BBG2 has been incredible so far. I feel like it took a bit of a difficulty dip, just because I wasn't panting in a broken mess at the end of the first few weeks, but I wonder if that is because I'm just in overall better shape. The thing I love the absolute most about this guide is that she's starting to incorporate weights into the circuits, with low weight and low reps to ensure that I have the time and ability to work on form while I complete the workouts. It's great! The best thing is, I want to do Stronglifts 5x5 next, and this is helping me get over my fear (I know!) of the grown-up weight area. Another thing I love about the second guide is that it has optional Sunday challenges that help you record your progress in a way other than photos or weighing yourself.

Kayla's plan is great - it's structured, there's an abundance of social proof that shows support for the brand, which I think demonstrates just how powerful her guides are. She's also a very inspirational personality, rarely posting about her life, and rather focusing on her guide users' transformations, as well as addressing issues such as nutrition, motivation, and achieving goals over a long-term. One thing in particular she posted that I thought was amazing, was a post in response to a young girl that wanted to do her guide. She basically told the girl to instead focus on eating well, using her school sports program, and making sure her growing body was nourished and exercised, rather than trying to take it a step further with an intense workout program. She said that once she'd developed a little, it might be good to incorporate a regimented routine, but it would benefit her body and her attitude to wait a few years first. I loved that post - she basically proved that she considered the mental aspects of diet and exercise, and how it can negatively affect young girls if they become too obsessed with it. She's pretty much my hero <3
