I think the title slavery is wrong as well. My biggest gripe with it is a series of situations, beginning with the fact that the money is used to fund many, many inefficient and downright useless, if not contemptible, things. But you must make a living to survive. And you are NOT free to cross a border without making certain arrangements beforehand, sometimes downright rejected, such as trying to enter Canada with a weapon or a DUI. And even if you do, you remain chained to that country of origin, and not welcome to stay in another country for more than a transient time, all while being expected to return tax money to this country under threat of retribution. It's not slavery of course, but it doesn't feel too free.
