We are a DIII Football Program that has suffered from the rulings of the NCAA. Here is our story.

And this is why "I Chose DII" /s

This is some serious bullshit.

I know this isn't football related, but it's my experience and what I'm most familiar with. I was a good student (top 10 in my class), had academic scholarships, and I swam DII because that's who would take me for swimming. DIII swimming is actually more competitive than DII swimming (https://swimswam.com/ncaa-releases-time-standards-for-2016-division-iii-championships/ vs https://swimswam.com/ncaa-releases-time-standards-for-2016-ncaa-division-ii-championships/) TBH it fucking sucked having DIII schools in our conference champs because they were fast AF. It made our conference the fastest one outside of DI, but I digress.

A guy on my club team went to a DIII school for purely academic reasons and also competed on their swim team. Athletically speaking, he could have went DI. But he chose his university for academic reasons. The dude was a 4+ GPA, did community service, crazy test scores, and did internships at a cancer research facility as a high school student. He was also a national caliber swimmer. It absolutely kills me to think that some intersection between an admissions fuck up and NCAA rules like this might have cost my friend a chance to compete at nationals. They need to figure this shit out.
