I paid $100 for Star Wars Battlefront on the Australian Xbox Live Marketplace when it came out. Clearly an outrageous amount to spend on any game, let alone one that was so lacking in content; But my country has a high minimum wage so thems the rules i guess. Luckily i ended up throughly enjoying the gameplay and i believe i got my money's worth.
What i don't appreciate however, is the fact that EA currently has the Ultimate edition (base game and season pass), on sale for $65 while the season pass has only been reduced to $50.
Heaven forbid people who supported this half-arsed game in it's early days should get an appropriate discount on the DLC.
I'm just sick of money hungry publishers neglecting the working class citizens who support their industry and make them filthy rich.
Furthermore, this trend of re-releasing old games and selling people things they already own with a half arsed, next gen-ish coat of paint is absolutely disgusting.
I'll admit that some of them catch my eye (yes i'm talking about you Bioshock Collection), but it's seems to me that all most of them do is waste time and resources that could be used to create fresh experiences.
Don't even get me started on Activision. Shitty ports of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 & 2 for $60 each and a random Transformers Fall of Cybertron port for $70... What a joke.
Then there's this hype machine that companies poor their marketing money into to get the public ravenously excited about upcoming projects. It's blatent false advertising.
Watchdogs had it's visuals down graded and suffered from cut content like those badass smart phone controlled drones, Destiny ended up being a shallow grindfest, No Man's Sky is bare bones and the Division had no post game I hope i don't come across as entitled or nit picky, it's not all bad and not everyone is guilty, there's some good stuff out there too. Generally speaking though, i feel like the video game industry (like so many others) doesn't treat it's customers with enough respect.
