Between 2001 and 2012, 11,766 women were murdered by their husbands or boyfriends, this is more than twice the total number of all troops killed in Afghanistan and Iraq plus all Americans who have been killed in terror attacks (including 9/11).

So once again we have somebody disproportionately and unreasonably focusing on women? Last I checked, it is a general rule of the police forces in first world countries that if someone is killed, they should look at their spouse first and foremost. It is an absurd percentage (like 85% upwards) that when someone has died, their spouse is the perpetrator and in many other cases it will be a member of their close family.

Yet suddenly, this statistical information is brought back out to push a specific idea that MEN are to blame for all the death out there. Did anyone ever consider the possibility that this statistic instead proved just how well equipped and trained US soldiers are? Of course they didn't, because this shit is here to tell women that men are evil.

This, despite the fact that any intelligent woman would think "no, men are my father, my potential husband and my future son." That's what this piece is trying to break. It tries to stoke division between the genders. And it's working.
