I agree with bookaddictanon here. I don’t know you or the dynamics of your world, but I think it’s just innocent thoughtlessness. My stepkids constantly want to talk about their BMs and share their worlds about her with me. I can only assume it’s similar for the kids about me to the BMs.

Also, being a stepkid in both my bio parents subsequent marriages, I shared things like this, too, and I never meant ill will or to hurt anyone emotionally. In fact, I used to keep my parents wedding photo up during all my formative years because it was the only smiling picture I could find that showed they at least loved each other for one day of their time together. Supposedly. Lol.

Step parenting can be a very difficult journey, but I’m sure you’re doing a great job. Great enough for your SS to share his world with you, you may be more of a source of support and stability than you realize.
