[Bonsai Beginner’s weekly thread –2021 week 11]

Hello everyone! Happy start of season! I am worried about my trees - my Satsuki Azalea (Rhododendron indicum) and Maple (Acer palmatum) are both not looking great. The azalea has droopy and dry leaves, yellow or brown, and the Maple has no leaves at all, and no indication of new ones sprouting. I understand that they lose their colors and leaves during winter, but now we are starting spring season here and I don't see any signs of recovery yet.

At the same time, my cherry tree (Prunus tomentosa) already had flower buds a couple of weeks ago and yesterday a bunch of flowers started opening!

I scratched the bark lightly of both my Azalea and the Maple and the inside of the bark is still very vivid green, so I'm hoping they are still hanging on. Is it normal that they take a bit longer to recover from winter?

I live in Germany (Berlin), so it was very cold up until now, and some days it is still quite cold, but we are starting to get more sun now and warmer temps.

Pic for reference so you know how they are looking right now:

Thank you all for any help and suggestions!
