Boulder City Council passes the first reading of an assault weapons ban and /r/Boulder loses it

You're acting as if most gun owners wouldn't want something like that. Surveys have shown that most do want some form of regulation, however what they don't want is laws that have no affect and essentially just punish owners on things that realistically don't make much sense (see some of californias laws).

Also, I feel like both sides of this discussion demonize and make extremes out of each others arguments, with progun saying anti wants to take away all guns while anti thinking pro want to slaughter children. This entire thing just seems kinda dumb, tribalistic, and backwards from someone who is middle of the line. Welcome to politics in America 2018 I guess.
