Brazil space research chief to leave job after Bolsonaro rejects data showing huge jump in Amazon deforestation: Preliminary data showed an 88 per cent jump in deforestation in the Amazon rainforest in June compared to the same month a year ago.

I think it's all a ploy to keep young people with their family to help them instead of going off and starting their own. The Boomers saw and felt the burden of helping their parents into retirement homes that cost a fortune and said "fuck that", now they are changing the system to accommodate the extended lifespan most people in developed nations are experiencing to increase their quality of care.

I'm not entirely sure it's wrong that they are doing so, given we will have longer to "live" then they do and can now do so. Unfortunately it's fucking over those who might not have their parents support for one reason or another, and are left on their own to rot.
