Car got TOWED, it's in impound, I didn't even know I had gotten a ticket- HELP

What a nightmare, I am sad to hear this happened to you OP, that is really bullshit. I wish I could help you but towing in Kansas City is a long term scam. I have been fucked by it twice and had to bite the bullet and it was 100% bullshit.

The second time it happened i was going to go after it all and try to help get rules changed and all I ran in to was stone walls, no one in charge in Kansas City cares or wants to change a thing.

And this whole rule that if a car is 10 years or older that is can be sold and smooshed at scrap yard is really crazy.

The bottom line, I am so careful about where I leave my car that sometimes I dont even go to events. I was going to go this London international trade lunch a couple of months ago, I dressup, drove downtown 1/2 an hour early and could not find a suitable place which I could trust to park my car.... after 20 minutes I said fuck it, and drove back home. I dont trust anyplace down town to the Plaza to park my car.

As has been/is being said, those fuckers can "steal" your car and that is that, no one cares. In the end it hurts the city little by little (but I guess so little that they don't care).

I wont go (drive my car) to the River Market. I have had 3 friends cars stolen down there and 4-5 other people's car towed. And also know if/when your car is actually stolen (not tow truck stolen) and the police find it, they have it towed to the impound lot and you have to pay to get it out.

This is all not to mention getting your car broken in to (window shattered) when your car is parked in a fine spot, and again the police could not give a fuck.

TL/DR It all makes me not ever want to drive or park my car anywhere in Kansas City. I have learned first hand and paid over $1000.00 of my own money learning this lesson, from fines to tow fees, impound fees and paying to buy new car windows...

geeezz, as I type this, no wonder I am happy to just stay home sometimes.
