There are no issues with Jews wanting their own nation, and indeed - given the horrors suffered by the Jewish people, particularly the Holocaust - it is a perfectly understandable desire. I can empathise 100% with the Zionist urge for self-determination and support it entirely.

The thing is though, that I - like all decent, moral human beings - also support the same for the Palestinians. There is an obvious conflict inherent in these two beliefs since the Zionists colonised and invaded the Palestinians' ancient homeland of Palestine, but I do not think it is insoluble.

A two-state solution - with a measured RoR for Palestinian refugees and their extended families, '67 borders/land-swaps for those few illegal colonies that cannot be excised from Palestine, reparations paid to the Palestinian people and security guarantees for both sides - seems to be the quickest way to resolving the conflict although I must admit I would like to see a one-state solution personally. (I do, however, understand all of the political opposition in Zionist ideology to such a fair resolution and accept it is thus politically impossible, for the moment at least and without massive international pressure...)

Something must be done to ensure a fair deal for those whose own dreams of self-determination have been shattered by the success of the Zionist colonialist project in Palestine. If the world could rollback history and establish Israel elsewhere - that independent oblast in the USSR for example, or the middle of Australia (my country) - in a location which didn't already have an indigenous population it would obviously be better, but that can't happen now so we have to make the best of the circumstances we are are left with.

Those 22 Arab/Muslim countries are not some kind of homogeneous block you do realise? Each is the nation for a specific ethnic group and Arabs are not simply generic, interchangeable brown-people BTW.
