Chipotle to Stop Serving Genetically Altered Food

To not see how SAFE GMO could make it close to impossible for rulers to limit their citizens access to food without violating human rights is not an objective stance. It removes many excuses that are used in poverty and famine stricken areas of the world.

Oh right, they would have to violate human rights to do it. So that means that NOTHING CHANGES. GMO has ZERo to do with that. Asserting a self-proving claim and labeling it objective is infantile.

Such as? You mean Africa, right? Those dumbfuck darkies can't grow food so we have to engineer food that has some magical quality that allows it to be grown by stupid ass africans in sand and mud. GMO changes nothing in that regard. Hybridized and locally adapted varieties are all that's needed. Selling them a patented product with terms and conditions of use and don't produce a second generation of viable seed is unethical at best, but it's a fantastic business model.

we need to push forward to advance

Why? Are you Tim the Tool Man? MORE POWER, don't pump the brakes, step on the gas? Can advancement never mean knowing when to stop?

the long game science does more good than harm.

That's an unquantifiable claim because it isn't disprovable because no one will be around in the long term. We must, if we use the scientific principles, observe what the field is doing to our present. At present the fields of science have created the ultimate tool for the destruction of humanity and most other creatures of this fair space bound stone, but can't figure cancer out, or find out what causes autism. Just this week we discovered that the magma chamber beneath Yellowstone is bigger than previously thought. We can't predict weather 10 days from now with any true certainty but scientific models are giving us 1000 year models that apparently didn't account for volcanic activity.

Restraining your mind to rigid rationality is a cognitive handicap, your brain has so much more to offer for you to disallow it to roam but prefer to bounce down the high, hard solid steel walls of science. Science, by the way, is a tool, not a dogma so please stop advocating for it's necessity and omnipotence and blasting at 10 how Science can save humanity from apocalyptic destruction while brandishing the tools and the knowledge of how to do it..

I enjoy applying science to things and discovering that which is already known, but to hail Science as the lord and savior of the human domain is a bridge too far.
