City of San Jose Approves Gun Control Plan Imposing Gun Owner Fee, Liability Insurance

I work around government corrections and on occasion talk with people who have completed work release programs. I legit was shocked by some of the stories I heard.

One person was hit with a marijuana charge the evening before the new state marijuana laws took effect a few years ago. The person had just bought some marijuana from a friend that would have been 100% legal in just a few hours. But nope - local PD got wind of that and busted them. One got a trumped up charge - during a search of the property the police came across an old, rusted gun magazine that belonged to the persons grandfather in WWII. They found it in an old barn amongst years worth of other family items. He didn’t know it was still around when he inherited the property. They hit him because the magazine could hold more than 10 rounds. Forget the fact that it was rusted and broken beyond any use. It was now just mangled hunk of metal.

That person was labeled as a felon because he had some weed on him that was literally a couple hours away from being 100% legal, and because of an old rusted gun part that he didn’t know he had.
