CMV: Being religious in modern times is synonymous to being delusional

Yes, being religious makes little sense.

However your stated arguments are easily refuted and are using the same faulty logic that you are claiming is "delusional"

You are straw-manning a lot of minority views, by taking a literal reading of Genesis and saying that it makes no sense. Most Christians don't take a completely literal view of Genesis or Revelation either.

To name a few

The earth isn't 6000 years old. Even if it is, why would god create the earth to appear as though it has been here for billions of years? To confuse us or "test our faith"?

YEC isn't really the dominant theory by a long shot. And even if it was this really has no bearing on the existence of a god, rather just that a god would exist that we don't understand

Snakes aren't physically equipped to speak.

Biblically, it was a serpent and the bible directly addresses that the animal was cursed and lost its ability to walk and presumably speak. Unless you want to pick and chose what does and doesn't occur?

Incest is condemned but Adam and Eve or their children would have had to engage in it for humanity to survive.

Well actually the Catholic church's position on the matter is that incest in the collateral line (sister/cousin etc) is not against divine law or intrinsically wrong. Incest against the direct line (Grandparent/parent/child) is considered against divine law. Now adays its against "church law" but that's not really "divine law"

The obvious realisation that if everyone is awarded with 72 virgins upon arrival to heaven, they can't be real people who lived on earth because the math doesn't add up.

Who says they have to be real people? I mean this is a god that created the universe right?

There is no way that Noah could build an ark that houses all the species of the earth

The idea that the flood was localized is probably the majority opinion.

Religion promotes so many things that all truly moral people know are wrong. Adulterers aren't stoned.

Are these things really promoted? HOly texts discuss the misdeeds of humans. Jesus (God) Himself prevented adulterers from being stoned.

If the bible is true, we're all going to hell. Even the pope is probably going to hell. No one can live their life following every single rule

If the bible is true, You don't have to follow every single rule, that's the whole point of this Jesus guy.

Some rules have even been disregarded in modern times because they're so absurd.

Some rules are disregarded because they are considered ceremonial, and others considered moral. For example in today's world, we could say a speed limit of 55 on a road would be more "ceremonial" and obviously isn't meant to hold for the end of time as safety features of transportation improve. However a law saying "don't Murder" is something more timeless and has to do with human morality.

There is whole field of study that decides which rules are considered "ceremonial vs moral" and in fact Paul in the new testament says we are free from the law anyway if you'd like to be clear about it.

People know that they risk going to hell if they break the rules, yet they still do it.

Again, that's not how it works. In Fact, by that logic everyone should go to hell regardless of whether they break the rules because they were born with original sin.

TLDR Yes religion makes little sense, but your you are strawmanning arguments that aren't even held by the religious.
