CMV: We (the United States) should focus less on Mexican illegal immigration and more on fixing Mexico.

I do think I understand your premise, but the US has absolutely no legal basis for operating in another sovereign nation. That will make it very tough.

I highly recommend the book: “Why Nations Fail”. One of the authors is Mexican-American, I believe, and he writes really accessibly about Mexico’s history on why it’s economy and political instability has been the case since even before the arrival of the Spanish. I might not get it completely right; it’s been a bit since I’ve read it.

The book also treats subjects of the origin of wealth and property. Ever since the independence of modern Mexico, the country has had to deal with much political instability. This did not allow for much liberal and continuous economic growth, like USA experienced. Also, the culture plays a big part in it. I don’t remember the guy’s name, but the wealthiest Mexican, from Telemex or something, tried to have his business adventures take off in the US, but failed because he didn’t have cronies and political allies to allow for him to get ahead of the curve. He does have this in Mexico, which primarily allowed him to get wealthy.

The perpetual national instability causes the economic instability which makes people choose another country to settle for folks. People do need to prosper in their homeland.

Sending your fellow soldiers and government forces won’t help, because it’ll be seen as an invasion, I think.
