CMV: The way medical marijuana programs are currently administered in the United States is bullshit and is essentially a fig leaf for quasi-legalization for recreational use

I'd advise you to take a look at this page on medical marijuana laws in the US, because the process you are describing is illegal under these laws.

I'm familiar with the law.

Most states only allow marijuana prescription for certain conditions or diagnoses, so if a doctor is giving you weed for a headache, they are breaking the law.

"Chronic pain," then, as provided for in Cal. Health & Safety Code 11362.7. There's also an allowance for "migraines." I'm sure that one of the doctors at Bakersfield 420 will hook it up; after all, "If I don't qualify, I don't pay!" Says so right on the website.

The doctor must also be specially certified to prescribe marijuana and must follow all the regulations that doctors are always subject to. Otherwise, they are breaking the law.

I think the folks at (MMJ Doctor)[http://mmjdoctor.com/] believe the law to be ambiguous enough that they're safe; doctors get a wide berth to make medical diagnoses. That's why prescribing stuff off-label is allowed.

They are also only allowed to prescribe specific dosages and strains of marijuana, so if they are telling you to experiment or let you get however much you want, they are breaking the law.

This just isn't the case as far as I'm aware, at least in states that operate dispensaries. Can you point me to a statute?

These specific strains are also regulated like other drugs and the dispensaries are regulated like other pharmacies. If this isn't the case, they are breaking the law.

Again, these analyses are of questionable accuracy.
