I am a woman. On Xmas day I'll level up. I'll be level 37.
I collect many things. Skulls, old school transformers (the robots), Star Wars memorabilia (characters from the original three movies only), antique boxes with skeleton keys, old victorian dollies, antique medical equipment, antique toys, antique furniture, jewelry and other oddities. I also collect Hot Wheels cars. Specifically 60's muscle car models,x and now also the new line of Star Wars cars. Upon seeing the latest Star Wars movie I'll also be collecting characters from this movie as well. Both in action figure form as well as other types of memorabilia.
There are a few other things I collect. Interesting neck scarves, hand made babushka (nesting) dolls, certain art supplies, antique books, mismatched dishes, knee high striped socks, hand made winter hats with characters and ears on them, granny shawls, black stones with solid white lines around them.
I have many interests and a mostly eclectic preferred style. When people walk into my house their faces light up.
I think you should collect the shit out of anything you damn well feel like collecting. As long as it's not hurting anyone. Or yourself. I mean, please don't go out and start collecting tongues and ears.
You ought to surround yourself with the people and things that make you happy. Make you think. Make you dream.
The universe is intensely fond of pairs. And balance. That means there is always going to be someone who thinks negatively about your wicked cool car collection. It also means there's always going to be someone who thinks positively about it. Those are the folks who matter, because when people really enjoy something, they become inspired. That inspiration brings joy. Inspiration and joy are contagious as fuck. And frankly, I think we could use a little more of both these days.
Collect your cars. Marvel in their whimsy. Play with them often. Show them off. Be proud of your dreamer spirit and allow some joy to seep into your bones. You damn well deserve the smile those tiny, ridiculously over designed cars will inevitably plaster across your face.
