Coma survivors--what was the experience like? Could you hear people talking when you were unconscious?

I think Reddit is way too infatuated with lucid dreams. I've had them constantly for about 20 years, and I say they are are extremely annoying, though manageable after several years. I've always been someone who "remembers" their dreams and I have always drank a lot. When the alcohol wears off lucid dreams tend to happen. I could see how it would be cool for many people, I just want to go back to real sleep or wake up. You talk to your character in these dreams saying "you realize this is just a dream, right" but then that gets washed away for a while. It's like a movie, but you are not the star, you're way more insecure than ever, in my experience.
