corona culture in japan-- brace yourselves, new jets

I am just keeping to my apartment until the vaccine is out and am not visiting any family. I'm lucky that I am able to work from home, though.

I feel like it is safer here than some countries because they completely blocked all tourism so there should be a lesser chance of catching it here. With that said it just depends on how safe you want to be. Also ensure you don't live in a share-house if you do decide to travel because then you might be harming others and not only yourself.

I fell sick earlier this year but was unable to get tested. I stayed in my apartment for almost 4 weeks as my condition kept getting worse and at one point I ran out of groceries. I had to call a friend to drop off some food so I didn't starve! Also the Nagasaki government is pretty corrupt. They took in two cruise ships earlier this year to repair at a Mitsubishi plant that my brother-in-law works at and they housed the staff in the same dorm-style apartments that they keep the workers. Turns out a couple dozen of the cruise staff tested positive for covid and they didn't announce it for a month while they let them grocery shop and everything else. I was so pissed but luckily no one in my family had any symptoms.
