"It's definitely a concern": Postal workers on high alert over fentanyl risks

If anyone is curious the design of those pills is actually a recreation of the OxyContin 80 mg pill. When oxy was all the rage in the 2000's those "80s" as they were called were the most abundant opioid on the streets (other than heroin, but that's actually pretty rare in a lot of parts of Canada). I remember before I cleaned up several years ago hearing from friends to watch out for the 80s, they weren't the same as they used to be. Turns out they were right. What was happening was that drug suppliers were illicitly manufacturing fentanyl and marketing them as Oxys. It was a clever strategy. Today OxyContin isn't really around anymore, there was such a big crackdown on it and it's been made tamper proof so you can't abuse it quite like you used to, but it created a large demand and fentanyl replaced it, and it is still sold primarily in that form (or sold as a powder they say is heroin but is really just fent) to this day

Everyday I read the news I'm grateful I got out of it when I did. Almost all of my old friends who were into it with me are dead now. The only difference between them and me was that I had friends with money to help me find a spot in a decent rehab.
