This makes a lot of sense. When the CEO of one of China's largest companies was asked at Davos how he manages educated skilled employees vs the manufacturing level employees, he said "Smart people respond to ideas, stupid people people respond to symbols." This explains why in Silicon Valley, companies always adapt some "Change the World", or "Do good" mantra as a corporate slogan to rally sentiment. But in middle America, an American Flag hung on a fork lift or things with the word Freedom in it does the same thing.
