Denver City Council Approves City's 5 Year Housing Plan

high density housing along with slot houses that put more people crammed into residential neighborhoods in a city that cant even fund their light rail and bus lines is a really bad idea. the infrastructure just isnt there to support the current amount of people, adding more is fucking moronic. you want increased traffic and less parking? this is how you get there. the quality of construction so far has been abysmal and will lead to major issues down the road. you already seeing drainage issues, recently built townhomes, residential properties are already having structural issues. there is little to no consideration for the character of the city, not that anyone gives a shit about history...but neighborhoods are being razed overnight in favor of the cash developers bring to someones back pocket.

denver metro area can grow, as for the city of denver not so much. focus should be on improving life for existing residents, programs for low income housing, modernizing the traffic system with sensors instead of timers to increase traffic flow. the creation and funding of effective mass transit, beautification projects ect.

growth needs stricter controls. if denver city council cared about affordable housing they would have made it more difficult for housing developers to demolish existing structures to create these garbage can post contemporary cardboard box of shit you see now popping up every which place.

but you use the call of affordable housing as a rallying call to morons to justify the fleecing of a city. where do they get their civil engineers from, is their a bargin basement shitcan they pull these fuckheads from? or does the city even employ civil engineers anymore?...do they rely on developers inhouse team of hacks to pave the road of denvers bleak fucking future?
