Did anyone gain the ability to hold down or ENJOY a job after quitting gaming?

After I finished Uni I got a job and built my first PC, I had a full time job and the best hardware I ever owned in my life. Grinded overwatch and even reached my ranked peak at masters (nothing phenomenal, but higher than 96% of the population). Wouldn't play every day, I'd get home pretty tired from work but every weekend, for sure.

That was 2 years ago and I can tell you now it was a genuine waste of time. I visited my cousin's over the past week and had a conversation with a 12 yo gamer. Dude asked me what I used to play and I showed him a couple of clips I'd uploaded to yt. Dude did not give a shit and I totally get that. All I can say is even gamers don't give a fuck about your rank, find something else to sink your time into.

I'm definitely in a much better headspace now than I was 6 months ago. Hardly get on my PC anymore unless I have a specific purpose
