Joining the military doesn't take balls when you are just putting your life on the line for powdered wigs in DC that don't give a shit about you; I honestly feel bad for you for not realizing that's what's happening. My grandfather on my father's side served in World War II, and my grandfather on my mother's side served in Vietnam. I have other family currently in the military; The grandfather who helped to defeat Hitler knew it's what had to be done. The grandfather who served in Vietnam will never forgive the political swine who wanted to feed their hegemonic stability through the lives of his brothers in arms.

That same grandfather claims himself to be a staunch Conservative because of the propaganda he was fed, but will never realize that every single political issue that he supports is on the other side of the aisle because he was trained to immediately look away if someone was called a socialist or a communist. He even describes his experience in basic training as a form of brainwashing, and he won't discuss the war for what we can only guess is because of the disgusting nature of what went on.

When you sit there and blindly promote the same kind of dogmatic shit that could do that kind of damage to a man, one of your predecessors in arms once you've been enlisted, even though you were never subjected to what he was, I can't feel anything but contempt for you. Wars are not some glorious campaigns that everyone should praise, they are the manifestation of the most wicked and evil parts of the human psyche, and that is a paraphrase from him and not some hippie liberal like you seem to think I am. You're too fucking young to be so ready to die for political games, and that's the most disgusting part. It's the poor and the hardworking backbone of this country that is told to pay their life to fatten some bureaucrat's pocket.

This is real stuff, kid. It's not some tinfoil hat nutjob idea, this is taught in universities all over the world as how international relations work. Understand that, what it means is that a whole lot of the warhawk crap you hear all the time is just our political elite's way of letting everyone know it's time to reassert our dominance in the world theater by sacrificing a few of our servicemen so that they can keep fucking our citizens by not getting shit done in the Capitol while living it up with lobbyist money.

If you still feel compelled to do your part helping that machine keep on running, then go right ahead. I will know I at least tried to show you the shit they don't tell you about when they give you their sales pitch. A military that advertises it's benefits through TV commercials should be a pretty alarming state of affairs, because that means business must be good.
