It's difficult to understand how the people of a nation that has been the world's most powerful economy for around 150 years, by a wide margin, have to take to the streets in New Jersey in an attempt to get access to clean water.

Actually all the money is in giving clean water to workers. That's what makes this perplexing. Without clean water workers get sick, if workers get sick their productivity falls, if they get too sick they can't work, if they can't work there's nobody to do the jobs that provide the wealthy with their money, and then they go broke. That's the last thing they want.

So, if there's no political advantage in allowing the water to become poisoned, and there's no financial advantage in allowing the water to become poisoned, then why are the people in power allowing the water to become poisoned?

Keep in mind this will start happening more and more as infrastructure ages, unless people begin to be proactive. They might be doing that, but I'm betting there are more "Flints" and "Newarks" out there waiting to happen.
