[Discussion] why do people with small dogs suck?

I wouldn't say they are the worst categorically, but I do believe they have such a different experience with their dog, it's hard for them to understand what it's like to own a large breed. I grew up with a cockapoo and now own a GSD/Husky, so I've seen both sides of the coin. My large breed is a working dog and he's trained as such, so we have hours and hours and hours of bonding via training, a bond I never had with my small dog! I don't ever want to say large dog owners are better than small dog owners (esp on this forum, I have been dragged before for sharing opinions), but I understand your frustration because a good percentage of smaller dog owners I've encountered don't fully understand the power and capacity of a dog, or what a well trained large dog looks like.

In this case, it sounds like the woman who complained about you has an out of control dog. Chihuahua's are known for being that way. I was in Home Depot with my dog and we passed a Chihuahua puppy with it's owner, and I've never in my life been lunged at or snarled at like that by a dog in my whole life. Now i'm not saying all Chi's are like this but I've seen a few.

It sounds like the lady herself might be personally afraid of your dog (and that's totally ok! I grew up terrified of dogs and it sucks), but that's no reason to report you when there was literally no incident involving your dog. I think as long as you reassure the manager that you are always in control of your dog (and continue to always be in control of your dog after you send this), then they will leave you be. That's frustrating though for sure, that lady sounds like a pain.
