Doctors of Reddit: What's the creepiest thing you've encountered while on the job?

I'm sure I probably lost a couple IQ points along the way. I always tested a bit above average (~138).

I have probably tripped ~200 times though, so there's that.

I have noticed at night that I see streaks from lights - when I close one eye, a single light source looks like it is split into two slightly offset sources which doesn't make much sense to me. I did do something stupid when I was tripping acid once and shine a laser pointer into my eye v.v not very smart - I could see the veins in my eye.

It hasn't really negatively affected me as far as I can tell, but it's difficult (impossible?) to know, subjectively, if I lost any intelligence along the way. I imagine that it is likely.

I'm sure I have also done damage to my liver, kidneys, and heart, although I have had no ill effects so far (I was pretty heavy into drugs from 16-23 - now 27).

I sort of over did it one night due to peer pressure and I'm pretty sure I ODed. I couldn't pee, went to the hospital, tripped for 3 days - couldn't speak correctly ... I thought I would be retarded forever. That was pretty scary - mostly sad when I was unable to speak a sentence... my mom took me - would not recommend.

My douchebag friend basically talked me into double dosing (16 oz in one night ~1416mg at 165 pounds).

Anyway, now I am a software developer and my biggest medical issue is back problems from tackling my friend into a brick wall on my 22nd birthday.

If I could go back, I would probably not do what I did, but I thought I was invincible, had some interesting experiences, and can't change the past.

I don't do drugs anymore (except drink x.x;) and I feel relatively normal other then my eyes seeming shittier - but that could be from 16 years of working on computers.
