As someone pointed out above, the emblem system does not serve concern 1 because your emblem can change over time. You have no way of knowing who climbed solo. The only information gained is of their recent games.

As for your concern 2, heres a quick history of my duo relationship. Had a friend who I duo-qued with a lot pre dynamic que. We played pretty well together and our win rate reflected that sitting somewhere above 50%. When the season reset and dynamic que was released, another friend of ours, a jungler, was able to play with the group. He played volibear every game and we won 20 games in a row. There was such an alarming disparity between the effectiveness of a group of 3 relative to a group of 2 that it felt like we were cheating. Just food for thought.

Also as a final thought, who is the we in, "we believe it does pretty well in that function?" As I stated before, the emblem does not reflect that you gained your ranking without help. I find it incredibly hard to believe the whole of your organization sees this as an effective way to establish who climbed the ladder alone.
