Maneater’s story is surprisingly so fucking good for a short game imo. They even got the revenge aspect of the game even better than TLOU2.

In case you guys want to know how the plot follows, here it is:

*A shark hunter named Scaly Pete, who is accompanied by his son, captures and guts a rogue shark *An offspring pops out of her womb and gets mutilated by his knife only to bite his arm off *The shark grows into an adult and encounters Pete once again *The shark is responsible for the son of the hunter’s death via an explosion on a boat *Pete, being furious, tries to avenge his son thru any means even by poisoning the oceans and bringing a WW2 boat to get even with the rogue shark that killed his son *Pete says his last words to the shark as he is about to be swallowed whole - “Let the good times roll” in French which kills both him and the shark

Imo, the ending of the game was a good delivery of subverting expectations and not just violence for the sake of violence unlike TLOU2. A shame an small studio can make a better game than a bigger studio that is heavily associated with Sony.
