What I don't understand: have Russians hired CA to help meddle with the elections? Or have CA used Russian troll farms to achieve its goals as per the contract with the Trump Campaign. To me it now starts to look like the Russians were simply used by CA, possibly in order to mask the connection between CA and Trump. Which was actually pretty successful - the media and the public focused on Russia for more than a year, before finally turning the attention to CA.

PS. The "evidence" of CA-Russia connection doesn't look like much - there is only evidence of a pitch made to Lukoil, not anything concrete. In the C4 documentary we see them pitching for work in Sri Lanka, which shows that they were doing numerous pitches globally, just like any other consulting firm would.
