Field trip to anti-abortion rally not a 'good use of student time': Alberta minister | CBC News

I attended this high school. The March For Life rally has been something they've been participating in for years. The worst part about it, in my opinion, is that the student's are completely excused from classes to go attend this. The administration is totally okay with hundreds of students leaving the high school for the day to go chant and hold banners in Edmonton, I do not think that's a good use of student's time or school funding (If I remember correctly, the school board does fund the trip, the students only have to get signed permission from their parent/guardian to attend).

Honestly, when I attended, it was a great school full of very caring and talented educators, but it has seriously gone down hill in the past few years. The administration at the school has been way too lax when vetting public speakers to attend, and they are trying to push more religious policies into classes that have nothing to do with it. It's sad to see how far this school has fallen.
