Fitbit customers angry company ignored complaints after latest tech update ruined devices | CBC News

Do not get a Fitbit! I've had Fitbits for 5 years now, and the only reason I'm still with them is because they used to have impeccable service.

My first Fitbit broke within 6 months, then I got a replacement right away, which in turn broke within another 9 months, they replaced that one with an upgraded version which lasted another 12 months and then died.

Since that last one was out of warranty when it croaked I ended up buying a Flex 2, their simplest and most reliable tracker so far, as well as one of their cheapest (but that one also seems to be affected by this firmware upgrade, plus they don't sell it anymore anyway), which I used for a year before I was gifted a Versa.

The Versa, as you can imagine by now, died within 6 months. They reluctantly replaced it but it didn't come with a replacement wristband, so another 4 months later the wristband broke. It took them an entire month to send me a replacement, in the wrong colour nonetheless. So when this Versa dies I'm done with Fitbit for good.

TL;DR: Don't buy Fitbit - their hardware is just plain garbage, and over the years their customer support has gone to shit as well.
