For Redittors aged 65+: Do you believe the world is becoming a better or worse place since you were a kid? Why or why not?

Wow the arrogance to presume to know the answer of everyone based on whatever pigeon hole you want to put them in.

Let me add my cis white gay male atheist whatever pigeonhole you think I belong in perspective. There has been a massive increase in incarceration rates among all races, but especially among black Americans. You have way more broken homes. Way more children being raised by grandparents or by the state. While the US murder rate over all is at the lowest level in a century, in many of the inter cities which have large minority populations murder rates are still much higher than they were when people 65+ were growing up. So I would say the answer probably isn't obvious all non white cis christian males. I imagine the answer is nuanced and different among individuals from all kinds of different backgrounds. It is really dehumanizing to say everyone from this group or that group must feel a certain way.

It is really interesting hearing the perspective of what others from different demographic backgrounds feel based on their own life experiences. It is not interesting reading someone telling me how everyone else must feel.

If you have the perspective of a non cisgendered non christian disabled non white person who is 65, I would be interested to read about it.
