For those of you who have been sleep deprived enough to hallucinate, what was it like?

To me, it’s like your ‘minds eye’ and your real vision become one. I probably get around 4-6 hours of sleep during the university period, which is probably still a lot compared to other people who are commenting here, but somehow produces the most consistent hallucinations for me. Around 4am each night I start getting visual hallucinations and paranoia. I feel like the paranoia is the key factor here. I mostly see scary humanoid figures standing/crouching in different parts of my room. I start seeing things out of the corner of my eye that aren’t there when I look in their direction and get the feeling that I’m being watched. I had to turn any stuffed animals in my room facing away from me for this reason. Luckily I’m fully aware that these feelings aren’t real and the hallucinations go away if I ignore them.
