I didn’t say I wanted BF to be an arcade shooter, I said it IS an arcade shooter. I used to be like you. I wanted realism at every turn. What I learned is that BF has to pick a side, they’ve been trying to satisfy two types of gamers for a long time and it is ultimately at the expense of the whole game’s potential. HC feels like a poorly ported console game to PC, the game isn’t designed or optimized for it. At the same time, they split the difference very harshly with “casual” to make them different enough from one another. Hardcore or arcade, whatever - just pick one and stick to it.

I was ecstatic when I learned that BFV would rid 3D spotting, map-enemy indicators, infinite ammo and health, god vehicles, and the two mode system. The BFV alpha/beta was almost perfect imo, then they started leaning it to be more of an arcade shooter within the first months of release. What they inevitably created was a Frankenstein shooter, granted it was a pretty fun Frankenstein shooter until they started to fuck with the TTK even more. Personally, I’d love a bit more of a hardcore BF, but realistically that’s not what it is.
