Exactly! For me, dessert, soda pop and eating out have always been the driving forces behind my weight gain (15lb fluctuations). Those are fairly easy habits for me to correct. Swap out soda/juice for water, reduced alcohol consumption, no desserts, smaller portions and I drop 20lbs in 6 months without thinking about it.

My mom has been 20lbs overweight for the last 25 years. She only has a single drink once a week, no soda pop, no desserts. Overall a pretty balanced diet. Her major issue is snacking... a little spoonful of something here and there throughout the day. She'll say she "hardly ate" which is true in the meal sense, but she forgets about her routine snacking.
