LoL stuff: I have a 100% win rate in ranked this season. I've only played Ivern and Leona (both support). I should finish up my promos and see where I place already.
Non-LoL stuff: This is why I'm single. I'm talking to this other single woman I know who almost immediately starts talking about Valentine's Day. I think she may be angling for a date since she's alone and I'm happy to play along.
Her: "v-day is really bugging me this year. :("
Me: Don't overthink the day.
"You're right. :)"
Don't have expectations about the day.
"It's not that; it's just that I keep feeling like OTHER people have expectations about me."
Oh, definitely don't give into THEIR expectations.
{we start talking about her sister's husband who is a teacher and found a note from a girl who asked a boy to be her boyfriend for $3. He counter-offered with $3.25}
Me: See, it's cute when they do it at that age, but when I try this, suddenly the police are giving me a lecture on "solicitation" and what I can and can't do legally.
"Oh, you're too funny. :)"
{we talk about movies and she asks about The Illusionist and I counter that I saw The Prestige instead; she's never seen it, but is intrigued by the cast and my recommendation that she should see it some time. I have a copy of the movie on DVD...}
{And then she takes a hard left turn, when we talk about Hollywood and fostering creativity...}

I try to argue that even if I grant her premise, most people didn't intentionally want violence and framing it that way is dangerous.
And you don't sway many people by telling them they're evil and WANT violence. I don't think calling people names is good.
"Who's calling names? sigh you're not getting it. I'm saying they committed an act of violence. They put people's lives in jeopardy on a daily basis. this is real and this is dangerous. I'm tired of arguing this point. ttyl."
I think I talked myself OUT of a date after asking her out earlier in the conversation. Maybe it's for the best if she's going to spend it talking about her crazy ideas about politics.
