Why the fuck is this upvoted so much?! What a terrible argument and thing to say. Who cares if someone can name 5 union soldiers? This is slavery, not some self righteous test to prove if you are a legit fan of a band or not. You do not have to be knowledgeable about the leadership of the Union army to know that slavery is bad and should not be celebrated. Seriously, can someone explain to me where the logic is here? You can be extremely passionate about equality and wanting to ensure human rights without needing to know some people's names from 150 years ago. Find someone in support of Confederate statues and see if they can name 5 Confederate leaders. And guess what, even if they can't they are still wrong about the statue. Why? Because they have nothing to do with one another.
