George H W Bush dies

Whether people agree doesn't change the fact of the matter. I understand wholly that people can disagree. That doesn't mean two opposed perspectives have equal validity and it's disingenuous of you to proclaim them both equally valid. The fact of the matter is still the fact of the matter.

We aren't debating. We aren't in an intellectual forum. We're in the real world with real consequences for real decisions made. A murderer is a murderer. Whether they are civil or not does not change that. Is this painting a clearer picture of my point? Abstractions about perspectives at this point are hollow. And civility remains as insidious as it always was. If the measure of "good" in a politician is civility, we're bound for a sea of troubles, because civility has no substance whatsoever.
