The worst is here in CA pedestrians will just jump out into traffic because they think they have the supreme right-of-way.

But like you said, there are rules that they ignore.

For example, if a car is inside of an intersection, they have the right of way to clear the intersectionbefore the pedestrian can walk out into the crosswalk.

Instead you’ll come to a stop. See some people talking on the sidewalk with their back turned to you. You see they’re making no intent to cross so you drive into the intersection. Then they immediately turn around and jump out into the crosswalk.

Then they flip you off or give you a dirty look and it’s like WTF? Pedestrians have the right-of-way, but you can’t just unexpectedly jump out into the path of a moving car. You need to look before you leap!
