People who claim to enjoy their jobs: are they faking it?

I really feel a disconnection to my friend circle because of this, because every one wants to portrait themselves as a successful career guy, who's work career is unfolding in front of them... So they act like they are super important for their company...

So expresses that they are gang banged by the work force every day..... that's not something that matches that expression....

So.... "they love their jobs"... it's like they think they get a rise not only by their chefs, but from their peers also....

I don't know if I'm off track here.... But this seems to me like super bizarre...
