Hey guys - quick question. How do we know that Christianity wasn't just a moneymaking scheme for new popes made after the death of Jesus?

If it's true you where "raised" Christian I suggest you at least read the new testament before making a ignorant/unstudied decision like this. You sound displeased with the Catholic church which is fine, I personally am not a Catholic even though yes I am a Christian. People like to say that we serve the same God as people in Mojhammed but that is not true, the only way to my God is through Jesus Christ the Lord, if you try to get to God any other way Jesus proclaims that you are a thief and a robber. He also said if you knew God than you would have listened to the one he sent. Basically if they knew my God whatsoever they would also know who Jesus Christ is, but they do not know God. They always say they respect Jesus Christ but that is so far from the truth in fact they do exactly the opposite because they completely strip his deity.

At least they try to say they respect Jesus it shows they are much more humble then I am, because I do not respect Mojhammed in any way shape or form, he is one of the biggest Anti Christs that this earth has ever seen.

I guess I am rambling a bit because I think your making a horrible decision and should take time to at least read the New Testament.
