Housing rule changes hit retirement plans to help middle-class moaners

The idea that someone earning $200K is going to throw their job away to prevent losing a $20K pension, a 10% pay cut, is nonsensical.

But it is someone who is already considering retirement. They have their family nagging at them to work less but in their mind it's like 100k is so much money, and then bam, it's 80k because the government won't give them the pension they have been contributing to and told they should have access to all their lives. There are a lot more people on 100k than on 200k in this country.

I live in this country with only my partner, both being reasonably young teachers. I just don't want the country to turn into a socialist hellhole. You stop incentivizing people to work, people stop working. Then you don't have the cash to do all the things you thought you were going to do.
