I think everyone gets that you are trying to do the right thing however priority #1 has to be looking out for yourself first and then looking out for other people.

Imagine you say something that could be considered vague while trying to discourage reckless behavior (like going to a warehouse rave) and one of these kids gets injured. You wouldn't have meant something bad to happen (you could have been discouraging it, it really doesn't matter what you say) but you could also be blamed for it. And while you ultimately could have cover, you live could also be ruined in the process.
