Not conjecture. 1) Adnan is the ex-boyfriend. DON IS THE NEW BOYFRIEND. SO WHAT? ADNAN WAS TALKING AND HOOKING UP WITH OTHER GIRLS. HE WASN"T PLANNING ON MARRYING HAE.
2) The get-away-from-me note/"I'm going to kill" (what happened at 7:45am?? Do we know yet?) >>HE WANTED TO KILL HIMSELF, HIS TEACHER, HIS LITTLE BROTHER....? TWO MONTHS EARLIER?
3) Adnan loaned his car and phone to Jay on the day of Hae's murder. >>JAY TESTIFIED TO USING HIS PHONE BECAUSE IT WAS IN THE CAR. IT WASN"T UNCOMMON FOR HIM TO BORROW CARS.
4) Adnan tried to get in Hae's car just before she went missing, despite having track right after school - 4 people say this. <<-THIS IS THE ONLY THING SO FAR WHICH LOOKS SUSPICIOUS.
5) Adnan later lied about trying to get in Hae's car. <<SEE POINT 4.
6) Hae's car is the crime scene (turn signal kicked off) <<IT IS A CRIME SCENE WHETHER ADNAN DID IT OR NOT. THIS ADDS NOTHING.
7) Hae was murdered in her car before 3:15, it's likely she knew her attacker. <<WE DO NOT KNOW WHEN SHE WAS MURDERED. YOU ARE ASSUMING SHE HAD TO KNOW HER ATTACKER. ALSO, HOW DO YOU KNOW SHE WASN'T ABDUCTED FROM HER CAR FIRST? THEY DO NOT KNOW TIME OF DEATH, ONLY THE WINDOW WITHIN WHICH SHE WENT MISSING.
8) 2 minute Nisha call to someone only Adnan knows in the mid afternoon, shortly after Hae's time of death. THIS WAS ALMOST DEFINITELY A BUTT DIAL. NISHA HAS NO RECOLLECTION OF THIS CALL AND SHE IS A CREDIBLE WITNESS.
9) Adnan seen high, acting oddly at Cathy's (her testimony)>> SHE DID NOT KNOW HIM AND HE WAS HIGH. WHY DID HE GO TO TRACK AND NOT ESTABLISH A CLEAR ALIBI? JAY WAS THE ONE WHO WAS SEEN ACTING ODD BY PEOPLE THAT KNEW HIM.
10) Adnan says he is with his phone at the mosque that evening... until he learns his phone has been used as a tracking device and changes his story to, "I don't remember." >>WRONG, EVEN TO SK HE SAYS HE THOUGHT HE HAD THE PHONE AND DIDN'T REMEMBER GIVING IT TO ANYBODY.
11) Adnan's cell phone pings the burial site at a time Jen and Jay indicate Hae is being buried. Adnan still says he thinks he had his phone during this time.>> SO YOU ARE WILLING TO BELIEVE HE WILL LIE ABOUT MURDERING SOMEBODY TO EVERYBODY IN HIS LIFE FOR 15 YEARS, BUT YET HE ISN'T WILLING TO LIE ABOUT JAY HAVING HIS PHONE AT THIS TIME. THAT JUST DOESN'T ADD UP.
12) Adnan never called or paged Hae after she went missing. (called her three times the night before) >>NEITHER DID DON AND MUCH WORSE FOR HIM, DON HAD NO REGULAR CONTACT WITH FRIENDS OF HERS WHO WERE ABLE TO CALL THE FAMILY FOR UPDATES. ADNAN WAS IN THE LOOP.
13) Jay saw Hae's body in the trunk, and helped bury Hae. >> ACCORDING TO JAY.
14) since it heavily implicates him, Jay is unlikely to have invented the story of having been at the burial site with Adnan, as a way of misdirecting the police>> EXCEPT THE EVIDENCE ONLY POINTED TO THE POSSIBILITY OF JAY'S INVOLVEMENT AND THEY WERE READY TO CHARGE HIM WITH THE CRIME IF HE DIDN'T POINT THE FINGER AT ADNAN.
15) Jay located the phone in Leakin Park for the 7:09 pm call>> JAY CHANGED HIS STORY MULTIPLE TIMES TO FIT THE NARRATIVE THE POLICE BELIEVED THE CELL PHONE RECORDS SHOWED--EVEN WHEN THE CELL EVIDENCE WAS INCORRECTLY ANALYZED AND LOCATIONS WERE INCORRECT. NOT CREDIBLE AT ALL.
16) Adnan told Inez Butler that his last memory of Hae was when they argued about prom.>> HE KNEW INEZ AND SHE KNEW HAE. MAYBE THE 17 YEAR OLD WAS SAD THE GIRL HE LOVED WAS GONE AND HE WAS SAD THEY ARGUED ABOUT PROM? HARD TO THINK A KILLER WOULD BE OUT THERE TALKING ABOUT ARGUMENTS AND PROBLEMS.
17) Adnan told the nurse that his last memory of Hae is when she called him the night before the murder and asked to get back together.>> THIS IS GETTING RIDICULOUS. IT IS A COMMON TO ROMANTICIZE THOSE WE LOSE.
18) Adnan had previously grabbed Hae's arm, and put his hand on the wall to talk to her, which apparently caught the attention of the nurse.>> NO MENTION OF PHYSICAL VIOLENCE OR FEAR IN HAE'S DIARY. NOBODY WHO KNEW EITHER OF THEM WELL SO ANY SIGNS OF VIOLENCE, STALKING, OR ANYTHING WHICH WOULD GIVE RISE TO CONCERN. THIS IS A STRETCH.
19) One teacher remembers Hae calling from another classroom, saying she was hiding from Adnan, and asking the teacher not to divulge her location to Adnan. >>SEE POINT 18. THIS WAS HIGH SCHOOL REMEMBER?
20) Debbie describes Adnan: "He was very possessive of her. He didn't like her to do things that he didn't know about, and he didn't want her around other guys a lot because that really bothered him." HIGH SCHOOL.
21) Adnan's fingerprints were on an envelope and a card in the trunk of Hae's car. Also, Adnan's fingerprints were on some floral paper in the back seat, and an insurance ID card in the glove box. >> SO HE WAS THE EX-BOYFRIEND AND HE HELPED HE OUT (WITH DON) WHEN HER CAR BROKE DOWN, BUT SO SURPRISING HIS PRINTS WERE ON HER CAR.
22) Jen testifies that she saw Jay and Adnan together at Westview at a time Adnan is supposed to be at the mosque. >> JENN ALSO LIED TO SAY JAY WAS AT HER HOUSE AT THE TIME THAT HAE DISAPPEARED. SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN CHARGED WITH ACCESSORY BUT WAS NOT. HER TESTIMONY IS ALL OVER THE MAP.
There is more than enough evidence to make Adnan the primary suspect or, maybe, the second suspect behind Jay. But there was not enough real evidence to put somebody in jail for life.
