How important is it to stay at your first job for as long as possible?

You’re right. I’ve been worried about still being single at 30. In my parents’ culture, you’re considered a leftover woman if you’re not married by age 27. I wouldn’t want to have kids during the MBA because I feel like that’d impact recruiting and the entire experience.

I guess I don’t know when the best time to get an MBA is. Is 2 years of FT work experience enough? I already have 6 months of full time internship experience - does the count?

Honestly the dream is to find an older man with a stable career by the time I’m 25. That way I wouldn’t feel as terrible about my career taking a hit if I have a family. But that means I need to pick a place and not move - and I don’t think I’m going to stay in the South forever. 90% of my friends are in NYC and my home is three hours away. I thought about doing an MBA at NYU in two years so I could definitely move back but it’s really expensive and I might not get in.
